Every offering doesn’t need an altar.

Not every contribution is hours on a roster. Buy a book from our stall at the next mela. Come to the appreciation evening. Community is built in many small ways.

Hindu Centre at the Melas

Each year we set up at Perumal Temple and other community gatherings — books for children, scriptures for adults, Hindu Centre tees and hampers. Every sale supports the work.

Yuvashakti — five young Singaporean Hindu adults in a casual study circle on woven mats with mugs of chai and a Bhagavad Gita open, modern clothing, saffron walls
Being revived · 2026–2028

Yuvashakti is being rebuilt — and we’re looking for the generation to build it.

Yuvashakti — the youth circle — is for Singaporean Hindus aged 18 to 35: a space to learn the tradition properly, practise it among peers, and lead the work of the next decade.

Right now, it is quiet. We are between chapters — gathering the people who will shape the next one, with the Golden Jubilee in 2028 as the runway. New leadership is taking shape, and Yuvashakti will be built by the generation it is for, not handed down to them.

If that generation is you — or someone you know — we’d like to know now. Add your name, and you’ll be the first we call when Yuvashakti begins again.

FAQ

Real questions from real people. No judgment. No easy answers. Just honest engagement.

Absolutely. Hinduism has a long tradition of questioning — in fact, some of its greatest texts are structured as dialogues between a doubter and a teacher. You don't need to arrive with certainty. Come with your questions.
This is possibly the most-asked question about Hinduism, and it deserves a real answer. The short version: Hinduism recognises one ultimate reality (Brahman) that manifests in many forms. Think of it less like a pantheon and more like light through a prism. We explore this deeply in our Introduction to Hinduism course.
Start here. Literally. Our Introduction to Hinduism course is designed for exactly this situation. No prior knowledge assumed. No pressure. Many of our most engaged members started with exactly this question.
Yes. Many of our most dedicated volunteers came because they wanted to serve, not because they wanted to pray. Seva — service — is itself a spiritual practice. You don't need to be devout. You need to be willing.
No. Hinduism is a tradition, not an ethnicity. Our programmes are open to anyone with a genuine interest — regardless of background, nationality, or race. We actively welcome diversity within our community.
